Religious Education

The parish is the center of faith formation for Catholics. Every person in your pews, every Catholic in your parish community…child or adult…is on their own journey toward Christ and a life of discipleship.

As part of religious education, all registered families should be attending mass regularly.

Students registered for communion or confirmation are required to sign in to mass every week. We will have sign-up sheets in the foyer on Saturdays and Sundays.

We accept older children to catch up on sacraments, please register their current grade and add the sacrament.

The full class schedule will be uploaded online this week. We schedule breaks in accordance with our local school schedule.

Remote students will be registered into a seperate online program that we use. You will have a full calendar year to complete twenty lessons in order to get credit for the school year.

Sacrament Preparation for 1st Communion & 1st Penance

First communion and reconciliation will be completed in third grade starting this year.
We do request students attend second grade in person classes as a prerequisite.

Confirmation Preparation

Confirmation is completed in eighth grade. We do request students to attend seventh grade in person or online as a prerequisite. All students entering the eighth grade program are required to know the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be prayer before classes begin September 29.

The Confirmation ceremony is scheduled by the Bishops office and we do not know when it will be until December. It usually falls on a weekday and can be on a Saturday but that is not the norm. I submitted a request to the bishop's office not to offer confirmation during our spring break. The other dates once classes are complete are fair game for the Bishop. When I am told the date, I will share it via email and online. We hold two ceremonies on the same night, 5pm and 7pm. We will have a signup for these options sometime in February.
